The cost is $11.50 but I have found that it is very durable and lasts a long time (we've been using ours constantly for the last 3 years and it still shows no wear/tear). We used it to make the following recipe from http://www.aallrecipes.com/:

Original recipe yield:4 servings
PREP TIME 20 Min (more like 10 minutes with Apple Wedger)
COOK TIME 25 Min- I do an extra 10-15 minutes to make them more golden brown.

INGREDIENTS
3 russet potatoes, sliced into 1/4 inch strips (Use the Apple Wedger instead of slicing them)
cooking spray
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a medium baking sheet.
Arrange potato strips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, skin sides down. Spray lightly with cooking spray, and sprinkle with basil, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
Bake 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.

101 Things To Do With Kids

101 Fun Things to Do with Kids That Do Not Include TV!
- I'm not sure where I found this but it's a great list when you're looking for something to do other than watch the tube.

1.Go on a nature walk and collect different things.
